The lack of informed consent has sparked outrage among many researchers and users. Many believed that Facebook, by changing users` moods by changing the messages they saw, put vulnerable people at risk of depression and suicide at risk. However, Facebook`s supporters claim that Facebook specifies in their terms of service that they have the right to use information for research. Others say that experience is only part of Facebook`s current work, which continually changes the algorithms of news feeds to arouse people`s interest and return to the site. Others pointed out that this specific study is not finished, but that news organizations are constantly trying different headlines with algorithms to attract emotions and collect Facebook clicks or shares. Informed consent is a procedure for obtaining permission before carrying out a medical intervention on an individual or disclosing personal data. A healthcare provider may ask a patient to accept the therapy before providing it, or a clinical researcher may ask a researcher before registering that person in a clinical trial. Informed consent is collected according to guidelines in the areas of medical and research ethics. In contrast, “minors” (who may be defined differently in different legal systems) are generally considered capable of giving consent, but informed consent may be required depending on their age and other factors. This is a strict standard in some jurisdictions (e.g.B. in much of the United States).
In other jurisdictions (e.g.B. England, Australia, Canada) can rebut this presumption by proving that the minor is “mature” (the “Gillick standard”). In cases of incompetent minors, informed consent is usually required by the parent (not the “Best Interest Standard”), although a patriae parens order may apply, allowing the court to waive parental consent in case of refusal. Informed consent is a necessary process for most medical procedures. However, there is often confusion about what informed consent is, what it means and when it is needed. Other long-standing controversies highlight the role of conflicts of interest between medical schools and researchers….
